How we work
We are a rental company offering fine tabletop catering equipment for both commercial and private customers.
We provide short-term access to a wide range of the finest catering products without the financial burden of purchasing equipment outright or the limitations of owning a particular style or range.
We source beautiful, innovative and superb quality products from some of the world’s most influential and respected brands. We are able to cover most events from intimate dinners for a select group, to cocktail receptions or banquets for 100's of people.
Our products are broadly divided into the four categories below; with each category containing a number of different collections:

Deliveries & Collections
Products are delivered clean and ready to use, and are collected again once the event is over – removing the need for costly storage and time consuming inventory management. Products can even be returned to us unwashed – saving more time.
Products can be delivered / collected anywhere in Hong Kong with the associated delivery charges being defined at the time of the quote. Deliveries are made ‘to threshold’ meaning that we will deliver/collect to/from the venue’s door, but not become involved in any set-up or breakdown.
Rental Rates & Deposits
We aim to keep our rental rates low and accessible, allowing the creation of memorable events while adding little to the overall cost. Rental charges are based on a daily rate per item and are detailed in the rental contract supplied at the time of order. Rental rates are payable in advance.
In addition to the rental rates, a refundable security deposit is required at the time of order. This covers any equipment breakage, damage or loss incurred during the rental period. Security deposits are returned once the rental contract has completed.
Should any deductions be required, they will be at the ‘replacement rates’ detailed in the rental contract.
We regret that we will not be able to deliver any equipment without the pre-payment of the rental and security deposit.
The Rental Process
Orders are submitted on an official Eighth Plate order form (available on request).
Upon receipt of an order we will check dates and availability and issue a quote for the order including rental charges, required security deposit and any associated delivery charges. Quotes are valid for 30-days from issue.
Should the quote be accepted, a simple rental contract will be drawn up and issued to the customer.
The customer returns the signed rental contract together with the required rental charges, security deposit and delivery charges.
Eighth Plate delivers the products, packed in specific packing cases to the threshold of the requested location on the specified date / time.
The customer officially accepts the products by signing the associated delivery note.
The customer unpacks the items and runs the event.
Once complete, the customer repacks the items in the correct packing cases and makes ready for the Eighth Plate to collect at the venue’s threshold.
Eighth Plate collects the products (in their packing cases) and returns to the central warehouse.
Products are counted and checked.
Should all items be returned in good order the security deposit is returned to the customer.
